Bill C-293, known as the Pandemic Prevention and Preparedness Act, has been labeled “The Vegan Act” by Sylvain Charlebois, a prominent food expert and professor at Dalhousie University.

Critics of the bill argue it contains vague and sweeping powers that basically grant the federal government unprecedented control over plants, animals, humans, and ecosystems during a declared pandemic.
